Whirlwind Week
So, last week was insanely busy; lots going on, so this is gonna be a long one…with pics and all!
Tuesday night I went to the Nine Inch Nails / Jane’s Addiction concert with Anne, Sarah, and Ross. Everyone who knows me knows that I’m MUCH more of a country person, but hey, why not try something new, right?? Everyone got a kick out of the fact that I knew NO songs…but whatev, it was still a great concert! (Actually, I LOVE Closer by NIN…so I figured that the $60 ticket would be worth it to hear that….and then they didn’t play it!!!) I LOVE JA’s lead guy….I mean, seriously, any guy who prances around in a unitard and tail is just great!!!
OH! And Dave Navarro was playing, too…H.O.T.
Jane’s Addiction:

Then, Thursday night, Karen, Tenley, and I went to see Rent at Bass Concert Hall. I.LOVE.RENT! It is absolutely my all time favorite musical! The first time I saw it was in New York at Nederlander Theater…what an amazing experience! Now, anytime it is close, I go!
Mimi and Angel weren’t the best I’ve ever seen, but it was still phenomenal! The Angel we had was a bit too masculine for the part, but it’s ok

I left work on Friday and drove to Navasota to see Jake play at The Western Club. Great, as always
John J is now playing drums for Jake, so it was a fun night! The guys are below: Jake Hooker, Rick Price (the best steel man around!), twin fiddles Snuffy and Rocky King (who is awesome!), and John J on the drums

I stayed Friday night at Erin and Stephen’s with the intent on getting up at 6am to drive back to Leander and then ride to Ft. Worth with Jess, Sam, and Graham to go to Nika’s grad party. Well, 6am didn’t happen after a night out, so I got up with Erin, ran some errands with the boys, got dressed and then hit the road to Ft. Worth. It was so much fun seeing everyone, and now that Nika and Cody will be in SA for her residency, hopefully we will be seeing more of each other. Congrats Nika on finishing med school…so awesome!!! Love you!

Oh yeah, so this was cute. Erin and I decided a long time ago that when Colton started talking whatever he called me would be my name for all of the kiddos. Well, since he still wasn’t talking when everyone else started having babies, I’ve been “Aunt Hailey” to them. Steph (Erin’s sister-in-law…and one of my friends) had her baby in August and named her…Haylee! So…Colton’s had a lot of practice with the name, and they all call her Hay Hay. This weekend, Erin realized that Colton has actually differentiated the two of us! I am now “Hai”….I don’t get the second one! Crazy that he came up with that on his own, but so fun that he figured it out, knows who I am, and so now I’m his “Hai.” It was just so incredibly cute when Erin asked Colton “Who’s that?” and he looked at me, smiled and said “Hai!”
This week has been a bit more calm…EPA training course for work Mon-Fri, and then just cleaning the house and trying to get the office organized. I’m getting a roommate (YAY!), and she’s coming over tomorrow. She sounds awesome, is 25, and a teacher. Can’t wait to finally meet her in person, but it seems like it will be great! She’s not moving in until July, so still time to actually get the office to where it needs to be. Years of stuff has just been left in there because I haven’t felt like going through it all. It’s amazing all the shit that we had accumulated…some of it important and I will keep…most of it not important (or not mine so I don’t care about it) and has gone in the trash! Anyway, so Christina is coming by tomorrow, then on Friday I am driving to Erin’s to stay the night. I have to be in Tyler by like 10:30 on Saturday morning, and Anderson is about 2 hours closer than Leander
I can’t wait for Saturday! JASON AND KATIE ARE GETTING MARRIED!!! Yes, my BFF Jase, is getting hitched. I can’t believe it, but I am so incredibly happy! I love Katie Mac to death, and can’t wait to share their special day with them!
After the wedding, it’s a 6.5 hour road trip to Bandera for good music, good drinks, good friends, and good times! More on Bandera Memorial Day weekend next week, I’m sure!
Everyone have a safe and fun Memorial Day weekend….but also remember what it is we are celebrating. To a lot of people it’s just a day off work, but please take the time to remember our fallen Heros who served, fought, and died for our country. Please take part in the “National Moment of Remembrance” as well. At 3:00 pm your local time, take a moment to observe the fallen.
SSG Pugh, thank you for everything you did. I miss seeing your smiling face popping in on the webcam, listening to your advice, and hearing your laugh! I still think about you every day, and miss you so much! You are, and always will be, my biggest Hero!
